About Me

Emily Teresa McNeal has performed sacred, classical and spiritual music most of her life. A product of a deeply spiritual home with her parents, Bishop and Mrs.William Burroughs in Boston, MA, she has been a lover of the sacred music she experienced in the Apostolic tradition, which fostered her passion to study vocal performance with the likes of Inez Hunter, Robert Winfrey and Alma Dale, all in Boston.

 

As a member of Grace Church of All Nations in Boston, Ms. McNeal serves as principal soprano soloist for Bishop A. Livingston Foxworth. She has been commissioned for performances at St. Ignatius Cathedral, Hynes Auditorium, Marsh Chapel at Boston University, Boston College and for the Boston Urban League. With a focus on the African American Spiritual, Ms. McNeal has toured several metropolitan areas which include New York, Baltimore, Washington, D.C. and Atlanta. Most recently, she was the featured vocal artist for New England’s African American Ball in Boston, and The Nathan Carter School of Music Spring Benefit in Baltimore, Md.

A veteran teacher in the Boston Public School system, Ms. McNeal is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts. A mother, grandmother and nurturer of the children to whom she devotes her professional life, Emily Teresa McNeal takes delight in the musical gifts God has given her by willingly sharing them in service and ministry to His glory.
